Detectives in the Bronx are investigating after a man was found dead inside an apartment on Monday morning under suspicious circumstances.
According to police sources, cops discovered a 58-year-old man unconscious and responsive at 10:30 a.m. on June 16 inside 915 Elsmere Place in West Farms.
Sources familiar with the incident report that a foul odor could be smelled emanating from the apartment. Officers from the 48th Precinct were called to the location.
Law enforcement sources said the man suffered trauma to the back, and EMS pronounced him dead on the scene. While the death has not officially been classified as a homicide, sources are deeming it suspicious. The man’s identity has been withheld, pending family notification.
The cause of death will officially be determined by the Chief Medical Examiner’s office.
